Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling Experts in Glenview, IL

Serving Glenview Homeowners for Over 60 Years

Cabinets Plus has been a trusted resource for kitchen remodeling in Glenview, IL, and across Chicago's North Shore since 1962. We are a full-service remodeling company, so you work with one team from start to finish instead of managing multiple contractors on your own.

Most of our clients have spent months looking at photos, getting quotes, and trying to figure out who to trust before they call us. We don't rush that process. Come see the showroom, talk to a designer, and take the time you need to feel good about starting your project.

Our Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling Services for Your Glenview Home

Our kitchen and bathroom designers work with Glenview homeowners at every stage of the process, from early planning through completed installation. Whether you're ready to start now or just beginning to think through the options, we're happy to walk you through what makes sense for your space and your budget. Many of the homeowners we work with come back to us for future projects, and that starts with getting the first one right.

A full custom kitchen remodel touches nearly every part of the room. We manage the layout, cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and lighting. If your project includes structural work, such as wall removal or soffit demolition, that's part of the job too.

Additionally, older Glenview homes sometimes need an electrical panel upgrade to support a new kitchen layout, and permit requirements vary by village. We flag those things early. Check out our kitchen remodeling guide for a phase-by-phase breakdown, or our cost guide if budget is your starting point.

If you have your own installer or plan to handle it yourself, we'll design the layout, help you choose the right kitchen cabinets, and hand you everything your installer needs to get it done. We carry the full range, from builder-grade stock to semi-custom, fully custom, and furniture-grade options. Stop by our Palatine showroom to compare finishes and materials in person.

A bathroom remodel with us covers everything, including abinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, shower and tub design, custom shower doors, plumbing fixtures, and lighting. For homeowners thinking about aging in place, we design with that in mind from day one, too, if you ask us to.

Barrier-free walk-in showers, grab bars, wider doorways, improved lighting, and a separate handheld shower get worked into the plan during design, not bolted on at the end. Our bathroom remodeling guide walks you through what to expect before your consultation.

Not every bathroom project calls for a full remodel. If you need new bathroom cabinetry and want the design done right, we'll work with you on layout, help you select vanities and storage that fit the space, and provide the drawings and specifications your contractor needs. The same cabinet range available for kitchens applies here, from stock options to fully custom and furniture-grade.

A Home Built Around a Family in Glenview

We've always worked with families who want spaces that reflect how they actually live, not just how things look in a photograph.

This project in Glenview was that kind of job. The homeowners were undertaking a full home renovation and working with an interior designer to bring their vision to life. For the cabinetry, they came to us. Melissa Wilson partnered with the design team across six spaces, covering the kitchen, scullery pantry, bar, hallway built-ins, powder room, and primary bathroom.

Melissa's process starts with function. She works through how a household actually moves through a space, where storage needs to land, how traffic flows, and what gets used every day before a single finish is chosen. The aesthetic decisions follow from that foundation. In this home, that meant resolving practical questions in every room first, then arriving at the materials, details, and finishes that make the space feel genuinely like theirs.

The result is beautiful, and it should be. It carries the warmth of traditional craftsmanship alongside the clean lines and finishes that feel very much of today, with just enough sparkle woven in to reflect the personality of the people who live there. That balance doesn't happen by accident. When you spend time understanding how a household works, the design tends to take care of itself.

That's been our approach across every project we've taken on, from a single bathroom in a ranch home to a full six-space renovation like this one.

How We Work

Every Cabinets Plus project follows a clear, structured process. We invest more time up front than most comparable firms, and that is deliberate - the planning we do before the tradesmen set foot in your home is what makes the installation run smoothly once we do.

1

Schedule a Consultation

Book a visit to our Palatine showroom, email us at remodel@cabinetsplus.com, or call (847) 350-0143. The showroom is the best place to start - seeing and touching real materials is far more useful than looking at samples on a screen.

2

Meet Your Designer and Explore Materials

You will walk through our showroom displays with one of our designers, exploring materials and narrowing down what works for your home. By the time you leave, you will have a better sense of direction on finishes, layout, and what the project actually involves.

You might have an idea of the directions for the project, but you do not need to know exactly what you want before you arrive. Our designers will test what you like and what you do not, and suggest colors and finishes based on how you live and use the space.

3

Review Your Concept and Estimate

Your designer builds an initial concept and provides an estimate covering design direction, finishes, and price range, along with an honest picture of lead times. We plan around a three-month window for most projects and provide an estimate when to expect your project start date. We provide a detailed schedule breakdown several weeks before work begins.

If you want to continue refining the design, you will enter into a design agreement. This keeps the process moving and ensures your designer can commit the time your project needs.

In some cases - for example, if your schedule requires installation after a specific date - we can often work around that. You will discuss this in detail with your designer and arrive at a plan that fits your life.

Once you are close to finalizing the design, you may enter an enhanced design agreement. This reserves a spot on our installation schedule, subject to selections and contract being finalized by a set date. We will note any dates that do not work for you and build the schedule around those.

4

Receive Your Full Design Plan and Contract

Your designer produces a detailed layout and a fixed contract price. A signed contract comes with a detailed scope of work and complete set of plans. You will know exactly where your budget is going before any work begins. We do not bill extras unless there is a change in scope requested by the homeowner or required by unexpected site conditions that we cannot mitigate ourselves or if the necessary changes affect the schedule.

Remodeling can come with surprises. Many of them we resolve without ever needing to involve the homeowner. That is exactly why we invest so much time in planning before work starts — we would rather anticipate the problem than stall progress mid-project.

5

Our Operations Team Takes Over

Once contract and selections are finalized, the operations team steps in. Rachel Sorcic, our Field Operations Manager, ensures your materials arrive on time, any outside trades are arranged, and you are kept informed throughout. Your designer stays available if questions arise, but the day-to-day responsibilities move to the team running your project.

You will receive a detailed schedule listing the scope of work and how many days each phase is expected to take. You will know who is coming and when. Our crews use dust minimization techniques and clear debris regularly to keep disruption to your home and your routine as low as possible.

6

Punchlist and Completion

Crew and homeowners review the finished space and confirm every detail meets the standard we set at the start, and work through any remaining punch list items. Your final payment is not due until that punch list is clear. We want you to love the result - and we stay until you do.

Common Questions

How do payments work?

Most of our contracts use milestone payments tied to project progress:

Milestone Amount Due
Contract signing 20%
Commencement of work 30%
Completion of major scope by crew 30%
Final walkthrough and punch list complete 20%

Any design agreement fee counts toward your contract total.

Do you offer discounts?

No. We do not use gimmicks or inflated starting prices. What we quote is your best price for the design you want, any time you ask. If budget is a constraint, we will work with you to adjust materials and scope, so you get the most value from what you have available. We employ highly trained in-house crews and only bring in trusted outside trades we have verified and worked with over many years. You get quality work at a fair price—every time.

What will my project cost?

It depends on scope and material selections. Like-for-like replacements are more budget-friendly. Moving plumbing, electrical, or walls adds to the cost because of the additional work involved. Cabinet grade, countertop material, and finish selections all affect the final number. We will give you an honest estimate before any commitment is required.

Do you work with builders and general contractors?

Yes, selectively. We work with a small number of high-quality builders and GCs on projects inside and outside our regular service area.

We have two models for this work:

Wholesale: We design the concept and supply the cabinetry. Your team handles installation.

White-room: We design, supply, and install cabinets and all carpentry work. Your GC handles electrical and plumbing to our plans.

We only partner with reliable, highly reviewed professionals who hold themselves to the same standards we do. To discuss a builder or GC relationship, contact us at remodel@cabinetsplus.com.

About Glenview, IL

Glenview is one of the most established residential communities on Chicago's north shore, located about 15 miles northwest of downtown in Cook County. The village is home to roughly 50,000 residents and is known for mature tree-lined neighborhoods, highly rated schools in the Glenbrook and Northfield Township districts, and a strong sense of community that keeps families here for decades.

The housing stock ranges from classic mid-century ranch and split-level homes to newer construction in developments like The Glen, built on the former Glenview Naval Air Station. Many of those older homes are now 20 to 40 years past their last update. When a family has been in their home that long, they know exactly what isn't working, and they're ready to do something about it. That's a conversation we know well.

Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling FAQs for Glenview Homeowners

A kitchen remodel in the Glenview area typically ranges from $60K to $150K or more for a full gut remodel, with cabinetry alone often making up 25 to 30 percent of the total. Bathroom remodels tend to run lower, though master bath projects with custom tile, a walk-in shower, and upgraded fixtures can reach similar ranges. The best way to get an accurate number is to meet with a designer who can assess your space and develop a proposal around your actual scope. Our cost guide covers the main cost drivers in more detail.

The timeline depends on what the project involves. A straightforward bathroom remodel typically runs two to three weeks. Larger bathrooms with custom tile work or structural changes can take four to six weeks or longer. For kitchens, a simpler remodel usually takes five to seven weeks, while projects involving wall removal, soffit demolition, or extensive custom work can run ten to sixteen weeks. Glenview requires building permits for most kitchen and bathroom remodels, and permit timing is factored into the schedule at the start of planning.

Glenview has a significant number of homes built between the 1950s and 1980s, and older construction tends to surface a few items once a remodel gets underway. Plumbing supply lines may need updating depending on their age and material. Smoke detector placement almost always needs to meet current code as part of any permitted project. Building that into the timeline and budget from the beginning makes for a much smoother job than discovering it mid-project.

Usually, yes, with a few things worth checking first. Most dishwashers are 24 inches wide, and freestanding ranges are 30 inches, so standard replacements will fit if your current appliances need updating later. Built-in ovens are trickier because older sizes don't always match current cabinet dimensions, so if yours is an unusual size, it's worth flagging early in the design process. Refrigerators have gotten taller in recent years, so if you plan to keep yours, the space around it gets built accordingly. Faucets and garbage disposals over five years old are generally worth replacing while the kitchen is already open.

The most popular choice we see is quartz. It doesn't need sealing, holds up well in a working kitchen, and comes in a wide enough range of colors and patterns that most homeowners find something they love. Granite is a strong second. Each slab is unique because it's quarried stone, which appeals to homeowners who want something with natural character, though it does require periodic sealing to stay protected. Both are durable long-term investments that hold up well in the homes we work in across the north shore. The easiest way to make the call is to compare samples side by side in actual light, which is exactly what the showroom is for.
