Bathroom Trends in 2024

Jan 23, 2024

Timeless Elegance is in!

In the ever-evolving world of interior design, bathrooms are often overlooked spaces that deserve attention. While smart bathrooms have dominated conversations in recent years, there's a growing appreciation for timeless elegance and functionality. Let's explore the latest bathroom trends that go beyond smart technology, focusing on design, materials, and sustainable choices.

Nature-Inspired Designs:

Bring the outdoors in by incorporating nature-inspired elements into bathroom design. Earthy tones, natural materials like stone and wood, and plant accents can create a tranquil and spa-like atmosphere. Nature-inspired wallpapers or tiles with floral and botanical patterns add a touch of serenity to the space.

Freestanding Tubs and Statement Sinks:

Luxurious freestanding tubs and statement sinks are becoming focal points in bathrooms. These elegant fixtures not only enhance the overall design but also offer a sense of indulgence. Choose classic clawfoot tubs or modern sculptural sinks to make a bold statement.

Mixing Metals:

The era of uniform metal finishes is fading away. Mixing metals, such as combining brushed nickel with matte black or brass, adds visual interest and a touch of eclecticism to the bathroom. This trend allows for personalization while creating a harmonious balance in the space.

Open Shelving and Minimalist Storage:

Say goodbye to bulky cabinets and hello to open shelving. Embrace minimalist storage solutions that not only declutter the space but also showcase your stylish bath products. Floating shelves or wall-mounted cabinets contribute to an open and airy atmosphere.

Freestanding Vanity Units:

Freestanding vanity units with distinctive designs are gaining popularity. Opt for furniture-like vanities with unique finishes or opt for custom-made pieces that reflect your personal style. This trend adds a touch of sophistication and individuality to the bathroom.

Sustainable Choices:

Sustainability is a growing concern in interior design. Choose eco-friendly materials, water-efficient fixtures, and energy-saving lighting options. Green building practices not only contribute to a healthier planet but also create a more sustainable and responsible bathroom space.

As we navigate the evolving landscape of interior design, bathroom trends are moving away from the allure of smart technology towards timeless elegance and functionality. Embrace nature-inspired designs, experiment with matte finishes and mixed metals, and make a statement with freestanding fixtures. By incorporating these trends, you can create a bathroom space that is both stylish and enduring, offering a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the modern world.

According to a recent survey by LightStream Home Improvement Trends, the top home renovations continue to be in our kitchens and baths. And the reason behind these projects is a desire to love our homes. In fact, 73% of those surveyed reported that they’ve invested in a home improvement project since the pandemic began. The homeowners said they’re currently focused on renovation projects “that provide emotional fulfillment, not just a return on investment”. Fifty one percent said they wanted to feel joyful in their home and 29% said their motivation was to be “happy with a space for years to come”. Here at Cabinets Plus, we’ve felt this first hand. We have never been busier and we love assisting our customers while designing their dream kitchen or bath. The pandemic has increased our business exponentially (thank you) and we have met the challenges with a continued commitment to our clients: to give them the joy inspiring kitchen or bath they have been looking forward to. Right now, people are waiting longer for the finished product, but they keep telling us their joy-inspired project was really worth the wait! It’s our goal to make you happy from the moment you walk through our showroom door until the moment we leave your home for you to enjoy. In fact, during your project you’re given a “Make Me Happy” sheet so when comments or concerns do arise, you have a place to jot them down for us.

Avoid these common mistakes when planning a remodel.

Bidets are widely used around the world and are finally finding appreciation in the United States. There are some compelling reasons to add a bidet. First, comfort is key. Cleaning with a bidet is gentler than dry paper. Those with sensitive skin, medical conditions, or limited mobility will definitely appreciate a thorough but kinder type of clean. Secondly, cleaning with a spray of water is more effectively hygienic. Water gives a better clean and it's hands-free. Additionally, bidets are environmentally friendly. Toilet paper is resource intensive with a great deal of wood and water used to produce what is literally just flushed down the toilet.
