Find what works for you

The kitchen is an essential part of any home, and one of the key factors in making it functional and efficient is having adequate storage options. From food to utensils, appliances, and dishes, the kitchen needs to be well-organized and easily accessible. There are many storage options available for the modern kitchen, ranging from traditional cabinets and shelves to newer innovations like pull-out drawers, corner units, and customized storage solutions.

Cabinets are perhaps the most common storage option for the kitchen, and for a good reason. Cabinets provide a lot of storage space and come in a variety of sizes and styles to fit any kitchen design. Wall cabinets are ideal for storing dishes, glasses, and other small items, while base cabinets are perfect for pots, pans, and larger kitchen appliances. Cabinets can be made from different materials, including wood, laminate, and metal, and come in a range of colors and finishes to match the overall style of the kitchen.

Shelves are another traditional storage option that has been around for a long time. Shelves are ideal for storing items that are frequently used, such as spices, cooking oils, and other condiments. Open shelving is a popular trend in modern kitchens, providing a way to showcase dishes and decorative items while also making them easily accessible. Floating shelves are also a great option for smaller kitchens, providing additional storage space without taking up too much room.

Pull-out drawers are a newer storage innovation that has become increasingly popular in modern kitchens. These drawers slide out from under the countertop, providing easy access to items stored inside. Pull-out drawers are ideal for storing pots, pans, and other large items that are difficult to reach in traditional cabinets. They can be customized to fit the specific needs of the kitchen, such as adding dividers for organizing utensils or adjustable heights for storing different sized appliances.

Corner units are also an innovative storage option that utilizes the often-underutilized space in the corner of the kitchen. These units can be designed to fit the specific needs of the kitchen, such as a lazy susan that rotates for easy access to items or a swing-out shelf that maximizes space. Corner units are ideal for storing items that are used less frequently, such as baking sheets and large serving platters.

Customized storage solutions are also becoming increasingly popular in modern kitchens. These solutions can be tailored to fit the specific needs of the homeowner, such as adding a built-in spice rack, knife block, or pull-out pantry. Customized storage solutions are ideal for maximizing storage space in small kitchens or for homeowners with specific storage needs.

In conclusion, there are many storage options available for the modern kitchen, ranging from traditional cabinets and shelves to newer innovations like pull-out drawers, corner units, and customized storage solutions. Choosing the right storage option for your kitchen will depend on the specific needs of your household, the size of your kitchen, and your overall design aesthetic. Whether you opt for traditional cabinets or the latest storage innovation, having a well-organized and efficient kitchen will make cooking and entertaining a pleasure.

According to a recent survey by LightStream Home Improvement Trends, the top home renovations continue to be in our kitchens and baths. And the reason behind these projects is a desire to love our homes. In fact, 73% of those surveyed reported that they’ve invested in a home improvement project since the pandemic began. The homeowners said they’re currently focused on renovation projects “that provide emotional fulfillment, not just a return on investment”. Fifty one percent said they wanted to feel joyful in their home and 29% said their motivation was to be “happy with a space for years to come”. Here at Cabinets Plus, we’ve felt this first hand. We have never been busier and we love assisting our customers while designing their dream kitchen or bath. The pandemic has increased our business exponentially (thank you) and we have met the challenges with a continued commitment to our clients: to give them the joy inspiring kitchen or bath they have been looking forward to. Right now, people are waiting longer for the finished product, but they keep telling us their joy-inspired project was really worth the wait! It’s our goal to make you happy from the moment you walk through our showroom door until the moment we leave your home for you to enjoy. In fact, during your project you’re given a “Make Me Happy” sheet so when comments or concerns do arise, you have a place to jot them down for us.

Avoid these common mistakes when planning a remodel.

Bidets are widely used around the world and are finally finding appreciation in the United States. There are some compelling reasons to add a bidet. First, comfort is key. Cleaning with a bidet is gentler than dry paper. Those with sensitive skin, medical conditions, or limited mobility will definitely appreciate a thorough but kinder type of clean. Secondly, cleaning with a spray of water is more effectively hygienic. Water gives a better clean and it's hands-free. Additionally, bidets are environmentally friendly. Toilet paper is resource intensive with a great deal of wood and water used to produce what is literally just flushed down the toilet.
