BATHROOM COUNTERTOPS

All the kitchen countertop materials offered by Cabinets Plus are suitable for bathrooms. In addition, there are two others that are often used--marble and cultured marble. At Cabinets Plus, when you remodel your bathroom, we will guide you to the best vanity top for your style and budget.

Marble countertops

While marble is sometimes found in kitchens, this stone is slightly soft and we believe it is best used as a bathroom vanity top where hardness is not as critical. As with granite countertops, you need to remember that stone slabs are dug out of the ground and can vary greatly in color and consistency. For that reason you are often asked to go to the stone fabricator and pick out your slab to be sure it meets with your approval. Stone is porous and needs to be sealed a couple of times per year. It's not a difficult process and will keep your countertops looking beautiful for years to come.

Cultured marble vanity tops

Cultured marble is a budget-friendly man-made product that has some real marble but also contains resins, fillers and colors to allow the product to remain consistent. It is used in the bathroom for countertops but can also be molded into shower floors and walls. Unlike solid surface or stone, the finish is only on the top so you cannot use abrasives to clean it. The brand of cultured marble used at Cabinets Plus is made by Lippert.
