KITCHEN COUNTERTOPS

Homeowners today have more choices for kitchen countertops than ever before. At Cabinets Plus, as part of a full kitchen remodeling you can select from granite, marble, quartz, solid surface and laminate. We also offer wood.

Among the brands we provide are Cambria, Zodiaq, Silestone, CaesarStone, Corian, Craft-Art, John Boos, Formica, Wilsonart, Nevamar and Pionite.

Granite countertops

Granite is one of the most popular natural stone products used in the kitchen because of its durability and strength. You need to remember that stone slabs are dug out of the ground and can vary greatly in color and consistency. For that reason you are very often asked to go to the stone fabricator and pick out your slab to be sure it meets with your approval. Stone is a porous product and therefore needs to be sealed a couple of times per year. It's not a difficult process and will keep your countertops looking beautiful for years to come.

Quartz countertops

Some of the hottest kitchen countertops on the market today are quartz. Quartz is a mineral mined from the ground and is a major component of granite. When other ingredients are added to the quartz you get a countertop material with these wonderful properties.

• Harder than granite
• Non-porous, never needs to be re-sealed
• 10 year warranty
• Color so consistent you can choose from a 4 x 4 sample

Solid surface countertops

Corian falls into a group of products called solid surface. That means it's the same material all the way through. There are many products out there claiming to be "just like Corian", but Corian has some distinct advantages over other types of countertops:

• 10 year warranty
• Non-porous so it's stain resistant
• Corian bowls seam right in, there's no rim
• Seams are inconspicuous so your tops look like they are one piece
• In case of damage, it's renewable

Wood countertops

Teak, maple, cherry, walnut and even unusual woods like tigerwood, lyptus and bamboo, all make striking countertops for kitchens, wet bars, home offices and entertainment centers. We offer butcher block and other popular looks. Maintenance is easy: clean with vinegar and water, and re-oil every year or so, depending on use.

Laminate countertops

Laminate tops (often referred to by a common brand name, Formica) are durable and the most economical. If you want a more formal look, add a wood edge stained to match your cabinets. Because there are so many brands available, your choices of colors and patterns are almost limitless.
